Washing machine advice needed!

Rick & I need to replace our washing machine The old one has stopped spinning and at over 25 years old it's just not worth the cost of fixing. Do you guys have any recommendations for brands and/or dealers? We want to spend the bare minimum to just get something that will wash our clothes.
We hit the laundromat this weekend and discovered that washing costs waaaaaay more than drying! Until we replace the washer I think we'll be washing just small loads & running them through 2 dryer cycles because it will still be cheaper than the laundromat.

Appliance Smart is pretty cheap as long as you don't mind dents. :)

Dents are ok. We like low prices much more than we like non-dented machines!

The slightly dented dryer that we have is dented on the side that is immediately next to the wall. It's impossible to tell that it's dented without moving something big and heavy.

I buy all of my appliances from Warner-Stellian. They have a scratch and dent outlet in South Minneapolis. They also do free delivery and take away.

Between here & Facebook it looks like both Warner-Stellian and Appliance Smart are highly recommended. We'll probably check out both tomorrow night. Thanks!

I was looking through my old posts today and I see that you were at the laundromat last January as well. I sincerely hope that you are not replacing a machine that is less than a year old.

Nope! We were there last year because our dryer stopped working. The laundromat doesn't suck nearly as much when you can wash a couple loads of stuff and then just go there to dry it. Everything dries at the same time and you're there for less than an hour. The dryer didn't get replaced immediately and it was replaced with a cheap used one because it wasn't as annoying as not having a working washer. For this, we will replace with something new (but still cheap.) And it will be sometime this week!

Maybe check on portable washers?

Portable washers? Are they significantly cheaper than regular full size ones?
