Ok, maybe not...
So how was your Thanksgiving? At least you American folks. I'm guessing that those of you in Europe probably didn't get to do the big Turkey Feast to celebrate our attempt at genocide.
I got to start my Thanksgiving a week early with Geek Thanksgiving at genevra & akdar's house. There were 12 of us, plus four childrens. It was genevra & akdar (of course), me & hellbob, mhuot & lexiphanic, shrique & his wife J, oed_1 & his wife K, and E & L. There was turkey, stuffing, potatoes and lots of other yummy stuff.
oed_1 has been job hunting & a couple of his interviews were in Salt Lake City so there was some discussion of the Mormon things that we find strange. Apparently when Mormons have a child that is retarded they send them off to live in a special group home & they give them jobs making Mormon underwear. Cuz the Mormons have special underwear they wear. This of course led to us doing a google search for it because we are computer geeks & we wanted to know what they looked like!
We all ate too much, but it was a good time.
Sunday was spent lying on the couch not doing much of anything & Monday I had the day off so I went to the Science Museum to take pictures for school. I also skipped class on Monday night because much as I like the teacher I have a really hard time listening to her. I did finish my assignment for Wednesday's Photoshop class though (I actually finished it about 3 times because I kept playing with it...) and I've uploaded it to the gallery for your viewing pleasure:
Thursday was Thanksgiving with the family which was alright. The food was yummy. The company was ok. In the traditional Thanksgiving Aunts Against Everyone Else Trivial Pursuit game, everyone else won. This is probably because we were playing Genus 4 instead of the original. Besides the fact that much of the original is before our time, the Aunts also have the thing darn near memorized! Originally they had pulled out the 20th anniversary edition which is theoretically the most fair because it's only stuff from the last 20 years, but the aunts had a hissy-fit about how badly we kicked their asses last year and they refuse to play that one now. (It might have something to do with me not letting them finish reading the question as soon as they said "Thirty-Odd Foot of Grunt"...)
After my aunt's house we headed over to hellbob's sister's house for a little bit. He got to de-spyware her computer.
Friday I did do a little shopping, but I didn't get out early enough to get everything. Actually most of what I got ended up being for us. I finally bought Pirates of the Carribean because it was only $12.88 at Target! I also picked up South Park Season 1 and Simpsons Season 4 for only $17.77 each. I got the Korn album that Hellbob wanted, and I picked up two copies of his family's Christmas Album. The specific Johnny Mathis that they always listened to came out on CD last year so he needed to get a copy for his dad and for his sister.
Then I came home and napped but not enough so when hellbob called me to come pick him up from work I was uber-cranky and still tired. So I didn't make it to wiredferret & silmarian's FATT this year. *pout* I was really looking forward to it, but I was just too grumpy to go face people. So hellbob & I watched the movie Saved & it kicked ass! If you haven't seen it yet go rent it now! (Or put it on your Netflix list)
Saturday was spent doing a little homework & a lot of homework avoidance on the computer. I also trekked on down to the Memorial Blood Center to try to give away my platelets but they didn't want them. My hemocrit came back at 37 & it has to be 38 for them to allow you to donate. Phooey. This was the first time mine had ever been too low. The nurse said it was most likely due to me being female because if you're a chick the levels fluctuate more than in guys.
Today was a baby shower for my sister-in-law & more importantly it involved a lot of baby cuddles from Beth & Mike! I'm not biased, they really are the cutest babies ever!! And now I'm taking a short break from my homework. I just really don't like my Quark class that much because the assignments are boring and the program is annoying and clunky to use. I'd much rather be working on Photoshop homework, or Dreamweaver...
And now, back to the wonderful world of homework...
