Opus Spock

Hey chebutykin, did you know about this?

Bruce Campbell is doing a promo tour for his movie, My Name Is Bruce.

From his site: Hey, folks, here are the tour dates and venues for My Name is Bruce. Barring union strikes, hurricanes, flat tires or diptheria, I will be personally appearing at each of these cities to introduce the film and do a spirited Q&A afterward. Please bear in mind, this isn't a "signing," so I recommend that the only thing you bring is your smiling face. I will be doing the 3 major show every day - roughly the 7:00, 9:30 and midnight screenings I look forward to seeing you all there!

The cities, dates, and times are HERE.

His Minneapolis dates are Dec 5-7 at the Lagoon Theatre. hellbob and I have our tickets already for the Sunday, Dec 7th show at 7pm.

A little extra cash for Christmas

I have a ton of negatives, and some slides that I want to convert to digital. I can scan them at work when I don't have anything else to work on, but I've been pretty consistently busy for the last few months so I don't know when I'll even get to any of them. Since I'm the only lab person I'm not willing to do my stuff if there is any customer stuff that I should be doing.

So... I was thinking of picking up a film scanner and just scanning my stuff at home.

If I do that, do any of you have slides or negatives that you would like scanned to digital? I could do it cheaper than almost every place I've found and it would get me a little bit of extra spending money as the holidays come up.

Would any of you be interested in having me do that?

My Antarctic addiction

There is a kick-ass photo blog out there called The Big Picture at boston.com. Every couple days they do a post full of big gorgeous pictures on a subject. November 10th it was Scenes from Antarctica!

32 photos of the awesomeness that is Antarctica. Here is part of one:

Ice

(This is just part of that picture. I didn't think y'all would want me borking up your friends page with a 990 pixel wide picture.)

It was really fun for me to scroll through the pictures and stop at #15 and go "Hey! I've seen that picture before. That is Jon, one of this years Winter-overs at the Pole!" LOL! 30toseoul had posted it in her journal a couple months ago.
