Thursday: Booked it up to Grand Casino Hinkley right after work to see Uncle Kracker! Got to touch him! He totally f*cking rocked!
Friday: Didn't get to see coworkers baby because she wasn't feeling up to it because he had cried all night... Ran some errands, cleaned the house a little, and then met Kerry at a bar in St. Paul where she was with friends. Only had 3 screwdrivers, but I was WASTED! I guess it had something to do with not eating anything all day, and they were uber-strong. Don't remember most of driving Kerry back to her mom's. We had White Castles, and we talked about sex.
Saturday: My alarm went off way too frickin' early. Dawn picked me up and we headed down to Canterbury Park for Fan Jam. An all day concert on one of the hottest days of the year isn't as much fun as usual if you are hung over! But, I got to meet Montgomery Gentry!! They are a country music duo; Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry. And Troy is HOT! Even better up close & personal. The picture of me with them kinda sucks cuz the chick who took it cut off everything but our heads! This was a digital camera with an LCD display. How tough could it be? You can't even see that Troy is holding Moose! But other than the headache that wouldn't go away, it was a good day.
Sunday: My alarm went off way too frickin' early. Picked up Michelle & headed to Shakopee. Met Kerry, her mom, and her nephew at the Rennaissance Festival. Was surprised at how many people there I knew, cuz I didn't know a lot of them 2 years ago which was the last time I was there. I saw passaddhi, pisces3857, silmarrion, Peter, Katie, Deav, lexiphanic, jmanna, barda, realsarah, mle292, vorrant, Eric Lee, and of course, Kerry's brother Damon. I think I'm forgetting some people... It was fun, but I was sooooo sore! We were there from 9:00 to 6:30. Brought Kerry home with me.
Monday: we had no specific plans with Kerry, other than lunch at Khindo. This would be at 1:00 so that the car could get it's oil changed at the same time. This was the plan anyway... We dropped off the car at about 12:40 and headed to the restaurant. After a very yummy lunch we waddled back to the car at about 1:30. Shouldn't be a problem because they had almost an hour to do a simple oil change.
We walk in and the car is still in the bay with the hood up. The dude says "It's all done except for the oil filter. Your car takes a special one and we had to send someone to pick one up" OK, fine. I'm slightly irritated by this since when I called and made the appointment I mentioned that it requires a special filter and to make sure they had one on hand. Also, when I made the appointment they asked for the year, make, model of the car. One would assume that this was so they would have the correct parts.
So, we go to the thrift store because it is air-conditioned. Kill some time. Buy a Puzz-3D for only 99 cents. Got some other miscelaneous stuff. There are some frames I'm going to check to see if they are still there when it is purple week.
So about half an hour has passed & we head back over to the oil change place. Car is still sitting there with the hood up. We wait. The mechanic tells us that they had to go to Osseo to get the filter because it was the only place they could find it. My response to this is "The Saturn dealer's just a few miles away in Golden Valley" He didn't have a reply to that.
Fast forward to 3:00. We are STILL sitting there. There was a guy who didn't have an appoointment who was waiting to see if they could fit him in. He went up there and told them to give him back his keys so he could leave before he got stranded indefinately. At this point we ask if they have any clue on how long it will take. The guy we ask says he has no clue because he wasn't the one working on our car. Of course he wasn't! No one was! None of them appeared to be working on much.
So the guy who was supposedly working on ours came in, we asked him how much longer & he said he had no idea, he hadn't heard from the girl who was getting it. I said that Osseo was only 15 minutes away, why the hell was it taking so long? He then said "Well, did you want to reschedule for a different day?"
I just looked at him. Then I said, "How can we do that? It's half done. We're stuck here until you can get the car put back together." At this point he says "No, I haven't started it yet because we don't have the filter".
This would be the point where I lost it. I believe the exact quote was "Yes, we're leaving, and NO, there is no way in hell we are rescheduling." At this point we have been waiting for almost 2 hours under the delusion that everything had been done but put the new filter on, and they hadn't even STARTED!
I went off on the guy about how pissed I was, and that I had specifically mentioned the special filter when the appointment was made, and that I had better things to do than hang out in a repair shop for 2 hours. We had a discount punch card that we had purchased and he didn't even give it back until I asked for it. I told him that if I had been paying for the oil change he could be damn sure that I would be getting my money back, and I was sorry we had ever bought the discount card because I was never coming back, and I was going to try to get my money back on that. Not a word. He never once even said "I'm sorry".
So, we then decided to just wander Dinkytown before taking Kerry home. I took her to Magus Books, and she bought a couple things. After getting her home we pretty much crashed instantly.
I had school on Tuesday, and then it was today. So that's what I've been doing lately.
I have pictures from FanJam, and from RenFest, but I am much to lazy to post them. So that will just have to wait. Sorry, monkey-boy.
