Hooray Pepsi!

I have somehow ended up on the email list for the American Family Association's Action Alerts. I was going to delete them and flag them as spam, but then I realized that these "Action Alerts" are great ways to find out which companies and public officials are doing things right!

So here is the text of the latest one, telling us all the things that PepsiCo is doing to support GLBT!

Taking an "in your face" approach, PepsiCo sent a public message of support for the homosexual agenda. The company ran a full-page ad in the June/July issue of Out, a semi-pornographic homosexual magazine. The magazine is filled with page after page of nude and semi-nude photographs of men in suggestive positions.

AFA has asked PepsiCo to be neutral in the culture war, including homosexual marriage, but the company has consistently refused to do so. The ad supporting Out was a clear indication that the company is standing fast in its support of the homosexual agenda.

Consider these actions:

PepsiCo is a member of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. (Ford, McDonald’s and Wal-Mart withdrew from the NGLCC when asked to do so. PepsiCo refused)
PepsiCo requires its members to attend diversity training classes promoting the acceptance of homosexuality.
PepsiCo financially supports "gay pride parades" in cities across America.
PepsiCo gave a total of $1,000,000 to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). HRC gave hundreds of thousands of dollars in an effort to legalize homosexual marriage in California.
PepsiCo uses its TV commercials to promote the homosexual lifestyle.

Take Action!

Here's their action list, modified to support Pepsi, rather than boycott!

Call PepsiCo's Board of Directors Concern Line at 1-866-626-0633 and tell the board of directors that you are boycotting supporting PepsiCo and asking others to do the same. If there is no answer or you get a recording, stay on the line until a live operator comes on.
Sign the Boycott Pepsi Pledge. After signing the pledge, please call Pepsi (914-253-2000 or 1-800-433-2652) and tell the company you will boycott its products until it stops promoting the homosexual agenda. thank them for taking a stand against bigotry & hatred.
Call the Pepsi bottler nearest you and ask it to stop supporting the homosexual agenda.
Pepsi’s products include Pepsi soft drinks, Frito-Lay chips and snacks (800-352-4477), Quaker Oats (800-367-6287), Tropicana (800-237-7799) and Gatorade (800-884-2867).
Print the Boycott Pepsi Pledge and distribute it.
Forward this e-mail to your friends and family so they will know about Pepsi’s support of the homosexual agenda. Millions of people are not aware of Pepsi’s support of homosexual organizations. refusal to give in to the whims of the hate-filled AFA, choosing to put equality before ignorance.

Wow! I don't drink pop, and I've never liked Pepsi, but I kind feel like buying a case of 2 liter bottles now.

I don't shop at Wal-Mart or Ford, but I'm definitely going to rethink spending money at McDonalds. Although, darn, that means no more Chipotle.

They've got other products besides soda pop. Quaker Oats and Tropicana are both part of PepsiCo. (I just realized I accidentally crossed off the list of PepsiCo products, going to fix it now...

I like your version much better. Too bad I can't stand the taste of any of their drinks or I'd buy them. Oh. I guess there's 7-up.

Tropicana Orange Juice is one of their products too.
(I just noticed that I'd accidentally struck through the line listing their other product lines and I'm going to go fix that now.)

Yay Pepsi! I knew there was a reason I liked that company!

BTW, they also hate Coke for the much same reasons. People on the evil fundie boards I read frequently opine only being able to drink very limited kinds of soda's.
I read the AFA boycott list as a list of places I generally want to buy from.

That's fantastic! Sorry you've got to wade through the nasty, though. Makes me wish I still drank soda, though I do buy Quaker oatmeal so I can feel good about that. Tropicana, Gatorade, and FritoLay... gotcha.

I plan to. This spam is far more useful than the ones that want to help me enlarge my non-existent dick!

Anyone know where I can get a copy of the current boycott list without paying them a penny? I want to know what I should be looking out for to buy and where to go.

If I find one, I'll post it.
