Yeah, LJ really is dead these days...

No one on my LJ flist is really posting much about the Oscars. I'm going to just follow Twitter for now, favorite any Tweets I like, and do a compilation post of them later.

Oh fer crissake. That's because the Oscars suck! You can't blame LJ for that.

They usually do suck. This year more than most recent years.
But this is the first year I haven't had 3 or 4 people on my flist doing the live blog as they watch. I think the instant gratification of Twitter has stolen my Oscar posting peeps!

The Oscars are my guilty painful pleasure every year.

I'd be posting about them....if I were watching them :P

They are my annual guilty pleasure. But oh, were they painful this year. So so painfully boring.

That's what I've been hearing.

I did used to watch them...and *loved* them. But these days I watch so little tv as it is, that I really don't want to waste whatever time I do watch tv on the Oscars. Maybe if I *knew* for a fact that they'd be awesome or something.

I don't think I've ever watched an awards show from start to finish. I saw a couple minutes tonight, before work, but that's about it. How do you people watch these things? :)

I don't think LJ is dead; I'm working on a couple of postings. I like LJ because it lets me ramble a bit and work things out, as opposed to limiting me to a small post which is usually inadequate.

Yeah, LJ's not really dead, but it definitely isn't as busy as it used to be. I know, I don't post as much as I used to either. I really need to change that. I miss my LJ.
I really do like the threaded comments that you don't get on Facebook or Twitter.

I like the comments threaded, too. I find Twitter hard to follow; FB I can at least look up at previous comments but yeah, it's kind of annoying.

I muse now and again on LJ. I post Tarot for the day. Mostly, I haven't had much aside from the cruise to talk about, so FB and Twitter and their irrelevance are suitable for little notes.

Hoping I get something to talk about again. :)

somewhere in my list of "last things i'd want" would be people live-blogging the oscars on lj. lj is for incensed recaps the next day.

LOL! I think if it was multiple posts I'd feel the same way. My friends who blogged it on LJ while watching in past years would just have one post with spoilers under a cut that they would edit and add to as the show went on. Then we'd use the comments section of the post to talk about them. Basically it was a primitive version of the immediacy of Twitter... I did prefer following it on Twitter while watching last night, but I do miss the connection of LJ comment threads.

As for incensed recaps: O.M.G! That was one of the most BORING Oscar nights I can ever remember. James Franco was a lifelesss host, and there were almost no awesome moments.
